Mendelssohn at school!

“Mendelssohn at school!” consists of a musical program dedicated to the Romantic era and presented in a single concert, in June 2024, at the Opti-Centre in Vaudreuil-Dorion. A child prodigy and composer less known than Mozart, Félix Mendelssohn-Bratholdy nevertheless produced works of great maturity while he was still in primary school! We invite you to discover some of them through three sinfonias for strings (No. 1, 7 and 8), real compositional gems that he has trew on paper between the ages of twelve and fourteen.

In addition, and after three years of shutdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Galileo is resuming the activities of its immersion program “In the big leagues” (https://www.orchestragalileo.com/orchesterplus) by inviting the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Youth Orchestra (OSJVS - https://judyhungmusic.com/lécole-des-jeunes) to perform, for around fifteen minutes, between the two symphonies on the program.​

La Création selon Haydn

With «La Création selon Haydn», Galileo completes a first tour of the musical genres specific to symphonic music that he has explored since the beginning of his artistic operations, that is the oratorio.

To achieve its goals, the Orchestra joins forces with the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Classical Choir (CCVS - http://choeurcvs.org), a phalanx which is celebrating its sixty years of existence this year and to which are added the soprano Andrea Nùnez, the tenor Philippe Gagné and the baritone Dion Mazerolle.
